Dublin, Ireland - Bambie Thug has been selected as Ireland's representative for the Eurovision Song Contest 2024. The announcement was made during Saturday night's The Late Late Show Eurosong Special.

Thug's winning song, "Doomsday Blue," was chosen by a combination of public vote and an international jury. The singer will perform the up-tempo ballad at the competition in Malmö, Sweden, in May 2024.

Ireland has a long and successful history in Eurovision, having won the competition a record seven times. Bambie Thug is the first Irish artist to be chosen through the Eurosong Special format.
